The GTA 6 Launch Checklist: Every Confirmed Fact for November 19

Every confirmed fact for November 19, in one place. Image: Rockstar Games, Trailer 1.
Launch coverage of a game this big has a noise problem. Every outlet recycles the same five facts with different adjectives, rumor threads fill the gaps, and a month from now half of what you think you know will turn out to be someone’s invented screenshot. So here is the opposite approach: one page with every fact that is actually confirmed, each one traceable to Rockstar or Take-Two, plus an honest list of what remains unknown. No rumors. Nothing padded. Updated as official information lands.

The confirmed facts

  • Release date: November 19, 2026 on PS5 and both Xbox Series consoles. No PC version has been announced.
  • Price: $79.99 standard, $99.99 Ultimate Edition, announced with the June 24 press release and Bloomberg confirmation.
  • Pre-load: digital pre-orders install from November 12. The physical edition ships with a download code inside the box, also available November 12, so disc buyers pre-load too.
  • Pre-order bonus: the Vintage Vice City Pack through November 19. Digital orders also add a month of GTA+ at no cost, redeemable immediately and usable in GTA Online today.
  • Setting and story: Vice City, state of Leonida, following Jason and Lucia through what Rockstar describes as the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series, a conspiracy story that starts when an easy score goes wrong.
  • Frame rate: every console build runs 30 frames per second, PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series alike, per Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson. A 60fps mode is undecided, not ruled out.
  • Ultimate Edition contents: an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, and apparel threaded through Jason and Lucia’s story, plus GTA Online successor perks.
  • Scale signals: one early playthrough reportedly ran past 80 hours, the Extended Look showed a witness-based wanted system, and Rockstar’s letter said the game is nearly finished.

Still unknown, and worth watching

  • Download size: not announced. Rockstar has not published a figure, screenshots claiming 676 GB are fakes that have been repeatedly debunked, and credible guesses without an official number are still guesses.
  • Review embargo: timing unconfirmed. Watch for outlets receiving code in early November.
  • 60fps mode: genuinely undecided inside Rockstar, per Nelson. Treat any launch-day performance mode claim as invented until the studio says it.
  • GTA Online successor details: the Ultimate Edition perks confirm it exists as an evolution, but structure, monetization, and launch-day content have not been detailed.

What to actually do this month

  1. Clear storage now, not on launch night. The size is unannounced, but GTA 5 currently asks about 100 GB and every credible estimate for its successor lands well above that. A console with 50 GB free will have a bad November 19.
  2. Pre-load on November 12 if you are going digital. Midnight release times plus a day-one patch is the standard launch pattern, and pre-loading is the difference between playing at midnight and watching a progress bar while your friends’ statuses change.
  3. Decide your edition before the store page is slow. The Ultimate edition has led pre-order interest so far, per Take-Two. If you want standard, know that going in, because storefronts make the upsell prominent.
  4. Use the GTA+ month even if you never touch Online. It redeems at pre-order, works in the current GTA Online, and includes the Games Library of older Rockstar titles. Free is free, and it starts now, not on launch day.
  5. Set expectations for 30fps now. The Extended Look is the honest visual baseline for what launch day looks like on a base PS5. If that footage looked good to you, nothing about the real thing will disappoint.

Here is a fast way to grade any GTA 6 article you read this month, including launch previews from big outlets. Count the facts in it that appear on the confirmed list above. If the number is small and the adjectives are large, you are reading filler. The confirmed list is short on purpose: it is everything Rockstar has actually said, and a month from now, articles that stick to it will be the only ones that aged well.
